If you are planning a safari or domestic travel within Uganda, we would like to share an important update that may affect flight pricing.

Due to the ongoing Middle East crisis impacting global fuel supply, jet fuel prices have increased significantly. As a result, Uganda’s domestic airlines, Aerolink Uganda and Pearl Sky Aviation have introduced a temporary fuel surcharge on tickets.

This is a short-term measure, and the situation is being closely monitored. There is strong hope that the surcharge will be removed once fuel prices stabilize.

✈️ Aerolink Uganda Fuel Surcharge

Applies to tickets issued on or after 1st May 2026

$25 per person (one-way)

$50 per person (return)

Tickets issued before this date are not affected

Ticket amendments will incur the surcharge

All other fare rules remain unchanged

✈️ Pearl Sky Aviation Fuel Surcharge

Applies to tickets issued on or after 20th April 2026

$30 per person (one-way)

$50 per person (return)

Tickets issued before this date are not affected

Ticket amendments will incur the surcharge

All other fare rules remain unchanged

What This Means for Your Uganda Safari

For travelers booking fly-in safaris in Uganda, including gorilla trekking experiences in Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga National Parks, Chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safaris in Kibale National Park (Kasese airstrip), Queen Elizabeth National Park, Semliki National Park, or wildlife safaris in Murchison Falls National Park and Kidepo Valley National Park, this surcharge may slightly increase the overall cost of travel.

However:

The surcharge is temporary

It is driven by global fuel price changes

Airlines are actively reviewing the situation

We remain optimistic that pricing will return to normal soon.
